Hare — Expressive Bust of a Hare

A mysterious moment of attentiveness. Hare is the bust of an animal captured in a second of total focus — with raised, alert ears and eyes turned to the side, as if it had just heard something in the thick of the fields. This is a sculpture with a powerful character: wild, sharp-witted, almost mystical — in Celtic and pagan cultures, the hare was a symbol of intuition, the moon, fertility and magical transformation.

The form is raw, almost „modelled" — full of visible traces of the sculptor's hands, tools and textures. This is intentional: Hare is not a smooth, decorative figurine, but a true study of expression, frozen in the middle of clay's movement. Every break in the surface, every furrow and every sinew has its direction, its story and its intent.

What makes this sculpture truly exceptional is the patina — a multi-layered, painterly finish that combines deep black, charcoal, warm copper-gold highlights and subtle violet-blue reflections. These are the colours of a winter dusk over a field, or of an old, forgotten bronze recovered from the earth. Every sculpture has a unique pattern of patina — your piece cannot be recreated.

The figure rests on a solid, dark pedestal, which provides a strong, geometric counterbalance to the rich, organic form above — and at the same time elevates the sculpture to the rank of a true exhibit.

Hare fits beautifully into dark academia, gothic glamour, country-chic, woodland and mythological aesthetics, as well as modern, elegant interiors with an artistic edge. Perfect for a study, library, living room, law office, art gallery, boutique or boutique hotel. It is also a dream gift for a nature lover, a hunter, a collector, a fan of literature (from „Alice in Wonderland" to Ted Hughes's poetry), a lover of magic and symbolism — and for anyone born in the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese calendar.

100% handmade — from the modelling of the figure, through the hand-finishing of the expressive texture, to the layered application of the patina. Subtle differences in tone and texture ensure that your piece is one of a kind — just like a real hare in a field.
