Runner — Sculpture of an Athlete in Full Motion

Runner is a sculpture of an athlete captured in the middle of a sprint: legs stretched wide apart, arms thrown out, head slightly raised — and in his hand, the oval rugby ball, shielded with his entire body as he charges towards the try line. The raw, almost „modelled" texture of the body recalls the imprints left by the sculptor's hands in clay — every curve of muscle, every tension of tendon and every fold of skin carries its own trace and its own character.
