Runner — Sculpture of an Athlete in Full Motion

A second of pure determination — the moment when the body, the muscles and the will act as one. Runner is a sculpture of an athlete captured in the middle of a sprint: legs stretched wide apart, arms thrown out, head slightly raised — and in his hand, the oval rugby ball, shielded with his entire body as he charges towards the try line. This is not a smooth, academic sculpture — it is a study of movement, strength and passion.

The raw, almost „modelled" texture of the body recalls the imprints left by the sculptor's hands in clay — every curve of muscle, every tension of tendon and every fold of skin carries its own trace and its own character. The patinated surface in shades of deep black with warm, copper-gold highlights gives the sculpture the appearance of antique bronze — as if it had come from a museum of ancient Greece or the private collection of a Roman patrician.

The figure rests on a rectangular, raw, dark pedestal that emphasises the direction and the dynamic of the motion — allowing the sculpture to „flow" forward and reinforcing the sense of movement.

Runner fits beautifully into gentlemen's studies, libraries, sports clubs, boutique gyms, VIP lounges, offices, rugby academies and modern, elegant living rooms. It is also a dream gift — for a rugby player, a runner, a coach, a sports fan, for a father, brother, partner or boss whose passion or way of life is sport. A wonderful idea for a gift to celebrate the completion of an important competition, a promotion, a club's jubilee or the start of a new chapter in someone's career.

100% handmade — from the modelling of the figure, through the hand-finishing of the texture, to the layered application of the patina. Subtle differences in tone and texture ensure that your piece is one of a kind — just like every player on the pitch.
